on January 31, the Diamond Bar-Walnut branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW)  announced the winners of the 7th annual Speech Trek contest. Walnut High School Senior, Margaret Lee placed 2nd and Freshmen, Audrey Lee and Cindy Chen, received Honorable Mention. All three received cash prizes due to the generous donations from members in the community. 

 

Contestants had to deliver a speech on the Topic: How can communities, organizations, and citizens of all ages help protect and expand voting rights? 

 

They were judged on the introduction of speech, content based on research, and delivery.
