I was born and raised in Boyle Heights, just east of downtown LA. I graduated from Covina High School in 1994. Right after graduating high school, I attended Cal Poly Pomona, majored in English and earned my Bachelor of Arts in English and Master's degree in Educational Counseling at National University.

 

My tenure in education began in 1997.   Initially, I worked as a bilingual instructional aide for LA Unified school district and then Buena Park School District before being hired at Valencia High. At Valencia, I served as the Attendance Clerk and Secretary of Guidance before pursuing my Master's degree and becoming the Intervention Counselor.  

 

I have been part of the WHS family since 2013 and I feel honored to serve as a GLC for this wonderful school and community.  My goal is to bring hope to my students daily, to support them academically, socially and emotionally.
